This week I actually stumbled upon this restaurant as I was reading the online version of our Niagara Reporter about a new restaurant that had just opened; STICKY FACE BBQ.
Located at 272 Oliver Street in North Tonawanda, it had been open for less than a week when I decided to give it a try.
This little restaurant was clean, neat and fresh looking as we entered. We were immediately greeted and seated.
We started with the Surf-N-Turf Nacho’s, which turned out to be a ‘righteous’ idea (see what I did there?).
Tortilla chips with chunks of perfectly seasoned rib eye steak, pieces of lobster, sautéed onions and red peppers topped with cheddar jack cheese and a spicy béarnaise sauce. These were very good and a super unique menu item. The steak and lobster were very yummy.
I wish there was more cheese and that the béarnaise was served on the side for dipping, so the next time I order this – and there will totally be a next time – I will request it that way (pssssst so should you).
For my main dish, I had the beef brisket with sides of corn on cob and sweet potato fries. I was served two large pieces of brisket smoked for over 16 hours (SIXTEEN HOURS) then glazed in home-made BBQ sauce which I actually loved.
My friend had the rib-eye steak in the grass sandwich. Ooey gooey delicious rib-eye steak that’s sautéed with collard greens, caramelized onions and a hefty amount of provolone cheese topped on top, served on a fresh spinach tomato roll very good.
The corn on the cob was the best! It was sweet and savory at the same time, tasted like candy. The sweet potato fries were fresh cut thick and really good too.
I see a great future for this place (which obviously means they are going to be a huge success because I am never wrong!).
It’s got that southern feel that some other places don’t have. The owner himself even came out and greeted everyone to make sure we were satisfied. And you know what? I didn’t hear a single negative comment!
I think you should support this new business and give it a try. Make sure to tell them Jamie sent you!!
