I hope all residents are enjoying the summer like weather we are having now. Everyone is eager to get outside and enjoy the sunshine but please maintain social distancing and wearing your mask when among people.

Since the Governor has allowed groups of 25 to assemble there still needs to be social distancing. While dining outside is enjoyable the rules still need to be followed. Dining inside is now allowed for 50% capacity.

Youth sports, which are low risk, are allowed beginning July 6^th. That includes baseball, softball, cross-country, field hockey, crew, gymnastics disk golf, rock climbing, horseshoes, and non- motorized boating.

There are specific guidelines, which must be followed for the sport with only two spectators for each player and again masks, and social distancing required. Shared equipment must be disinfected between use and hand sanitizer available for all players and spectators.

City Hall will open June 22^nd but with appointment only and there will be restrictions for entering. Residents must call the department they wish to visit and a representative will meet them at the door at the given time. Operating hours will be 8:30 to 4:30 Mon. thru Fri.

The DMV also will open by appointment and restrictions as well. Upon entering, both building masks must be worn and residents must sign in and answer questions related to COVID health. The resident will then be escorted to the department requested to complete their business. These guidelines are mandated by NYS.

The present Police Chief will be retiring on June 25^th and the new chief will take over then. We thank Chief Zgolak for his many years of dedicated service in law enforcement to the community. Please keep all first responders in your thoughts during this difficult time in our Nation.

We still need to take COVID 19 seriously due to the rise in Niagara county cases. We are at 1207 with 122 in NT and 87 deaths. Although the hospitalization rate is lower, we are allowed to continue our Phase reopening. Any change in that could spark a reversal so we must still be cautious, but remaining hopeful will keep us on the right path.
