Changes are coming to the Athletics Department in North Tonawanda.

At a special board meeting the North Tonawanda School Board appointed Matthew Cook as district director of athletics, physical education and program services. 

The appointment is on a probationary basis. 

Cook previously worked at the Tonawanda City School’s in the same position for the past three years.

His probationary appointment begins Feb 11th and runs through Feb 10th, 2023. He will receive a base salary of $75,000 a year.

Superintendent Gregory Woytila said the district had at least 14 applicants. The group was then narrowed down to 4 or 5 finalists.
