Around 9:00pm an individual in North Tonawanda posted on the NT Public Facebook Page that there was a black bear “walking down Oelkers towards Gilmore.”

Around 30-45 minutes later, the same Facebook user then said that it was a joke and not true.

The fact that there is, or is not, a bear or any other dangerous animal in North Tonawanda, or anywhere else, is not something to joke about or make light of.

The Niagara Reporter asks that everyone remain responsible in the future. Especially with matters involving public safety.
