A local volunteer fire company is going above and beyond to help homeless animals at Niagara County SPCA this holiday season.
Today Youngstown Vol. Fire Co. invited 7-year-old Gunner, a hound dog in need of a home, to check out the fire station. Santa Claus was waiting to greet Gunner as well as the volunteer firefighters who showered him with love! Town of Porter Judge David Truesdale, a life member of the fire company and animal lover, issued a challenge to other fire departments across Western New York to help homeless animals in need by sponsoring a cage.
“Youngstown Fire Company would like to challenge all the other fire companies in the area to sponsor a cage. We did it…so can you,” said Truesdale.
The sponsorship was made possible through donations from members. Truesdale said it was beautiful to see Gunner running around the fire station. To learn more about sponsoring a cage, visit www.cellinoniagaraspca.org/Sponsor.
