Mayor Restaino launches Security Camera Rebate Program to include local Not-For-Profits Organizations

(Niagara Falls, New York) March 30, 2023 ─ In an effort to help local business owners and not-for-profit
organizations increase security at their property, Mayor Robert Restaino has launched a Security Camera
Rebate Program to now include local Not-For-Profit incorporated organizations. Various methods of
deploying security cameras throughout the city will help improve public safety in the City of Niagara
Falls. Along with the public safety aspects of the security camera program, Restaino said it is aimed at
having economic development benefits as well.

As part of his plan to utilize the $57.2 million that the City has received from the American Rescue Plan,
Restaino has allocated $500,000 to reimburse businesses and now not-for-profit organizations who
purchase and deploy security cameras. “This launch is another step forward to assist with public safety
in the City of Niagara Falls. If businesses would like to install more costly cameras, they certainly can do
so, however, the reimbursement is capped at $700,” Mayor Restaino said. The city will need to ensure
that the camera was installed and is operable before reimbursements would be made. In addition, in
order to be eligible for the $700 rebate, the business or not-for-profit must sign an agreement indicating
that they will provide access, if needed, of camera footage to local law enforcement.
