Niagara Falls Police responded to Rite Aid on the 1000 block of Pine Avenue around 1040 hours of Tuesday, March 23rd, 2021, after reports of a larceny. Upon arriving at the scene, police spoke to an employee who stated he could point out the individual who stole merchandise from the store. Officers followed the employee to the South side of Niagara Tower where he pointed to a white male wearing a white t-shirt and black pants. Officers did approach the male who was identified as Michael Pilon and subsequently placed him under arrest. Officers then reviewed surveillance footage which clearly showed Pilon placing several items inside his hoodie and passing all points of purchase without payment. The total value of the items taken was $276.33. Pilon was transported to police headquarters, processed, and then released. None of the items stolen were found on his person.
