THE CRIME NF: Resident Awakes to Find Burglar Inside Home

Niagara Falls Police responded to the 2600 block of Niagara Avenue around 0600 hours on Sunday, March 21st, 2021, after reports of a burglary. Upon arriving at the scene, the complainant stated that she awoke to an unknown suspect inside her home. The complainant stated that her son-in-law woke up and started to chase the unknown suspect out of the home until losing sight of him in the area of Niagara Avenue and Hyde Park Boulevard. The complainant stated that she later observed damage to her side door valued at $100 and that several doors / walls throughout her home had been vandalized as well. Further, there was garbage and an “unknown wet substance” thrown on the floors throughout the home. Another resident of the home told police that the unknown suspect stole her Xbox one game console, a 19-inch Emerson flat screen TC, and a bank card. The total amount of stolen property is estimated at $200 and damaged / vandalized property at $150. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
