Niagara Falls Police responded to the 1500 block of 22nd Street around 0215 hours on Sunday, February 28th, 2021, after reports of a burglary.

According to police, the complainant, who was “extremely intoxicated,” told police that upon arriving home he observed the bottom portion of his apartment door to be damaged. A panel at the bottom of the door appeared to have been kicked in.

The complainant entered his apartment and observed his sony stereo system to be broken on the ground. At this time, the complainant does not believe anything was taken from the apartment but believes whoever broke in must know him because “the dogs . . . wouldn’t have let him in.”

However, police then spoke with the landlord of the property who believes that the complainant kicked in the door after locking himself out of the apartment as he has done so on multiple occasions after drinking heavily. The landlord further stated he believed the resident did this to avoid maintenance fees.
