North Tonawanda City Hall

A State of Emergency has been declared by Mayor Pappas due to COVID 19 (Coronavirus).  The situation threatens the public safety and will be in effect until further notice.

This declaration is under section 24 of the New York Executive Law to preserve the public safety.  The Mayor has directed all departments of North Tonawanda to take necessary steps to protect our residents.

As part of this declaration, City Hall will be closed to the public effective immediately.  The city market will also be closed until further notice.

North Tonawanda Mayor Art Pappas declared a State of Emergency on Tuesday, March 17th, 2020.

We are asking everyone to use the city website, phone or drop box to do any city business.  Police and fire will continue service as usual.   We will be in compliance with the New York state mandate to drop our workforce by 50%.  We will also be enforcing other mandates having to do with numbers in public places and closures as directed by the state and county.

There is going to be little tolerance for people who do not comply.  We realize this will be an inconvenience and disruption to lives; however, the purpose is to protect our staff and residents.  Keep our first responders and emergency personnel in your thoughts and we thank them for their service.   Thank you to everyone for your anticipated cooperation.

On another note, the North Tonawanda parking ban has been lifted.
