Niagara County DA and Niagara Falls PD Announce Arrest in Death of 3-Year-Old Boy

On October 20, 2020, Alechmarie Pizarro, 22, of Syracuse, New York was arraigned before Honorable Matthew J. Murphy in Niagara County Court. She was charged by the Niagara County Grand Jury with Murder in the Second Degree and Manslaughter in the First Degree for the death of her three year-old son, Christopher Pizarro. The child’s death was ruled a homicide due to blunt force injuries to the head by the Erie County Medical Examiner’s Office. Pizarro is alleged to have committed these crimes while residing in the City of Niagara Falls on or about or between January 1, 2020 and February 15, 2020. The defendant is been held on bail set in the amount of $125,000/$200,000/$250,000. The defendant is being represented by the Niagara County Public Defender.

Niagara Falls Police Superintendent Thomas Licata stated, “Any time there is a death of a young child it is very hard on our officers. I would like to thank the officers from the Patrol Division as well as the Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division and Crime Scene Unit for their perseverance in seeking justice for this boy. They were able to work through this difficult subject-matter and do an outstanding job putting this case together. I am very proud of their work.”

The next scheduled court date is November 12, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.
