Niagara County Clerk Joseph Jastrzemski announced Wednesday, March 11th, 2020, that he was endorsing current Niagara County District Attorney Caroline Wojtaszek in her bid to become the next County Court Judge.

Jastrzemski, who was just re-elected to the Clerk’s Office in 2019, has garnered support across all political parties since assuming the post.

“I have been fortunate in my career to enjoy bipartisan support from all political parties because of my desire to work hard for residents across Niagara County,” said Jastrzemski. “As District Attorney, Caroline has demonstrated that same desire to work hard for every resident regardless of political affiliation, race, or socioeconomic status.”

Jastrzemski continued, stating, “I cannot tell you the number of times that Caroline was last to leave the County Courthouse. Her passion for the law and the pursuit of justice is unlike anything I have ever seen.”

Jastrzemski also stressed the quality of work produced by the District Attorney’s Office since Wojtaszek was elected in 2017 as a reason she is qualified to fill the County Court seat that will be vacated by Judge Sara Sheldon at the end of the year.

“Caroline leads the District Attorney’s Office by example and empowers those around her to be the best that they can be. In fact, her leadership and ideas for innovation have resulted in the Niagara County District Attorney’s Office being one of the most respected in New York State. Caroline’s experience working as a law clerk to Judge Sheldon and as the District Attorney is proof that she has the necessary training to be an impartial evaluator and custodian of fairness. Her ability to handle some of Niagara County’s most prolific cases is evidence of her desire to seek justice for all,” he stated.

Jastrzemski finished by urging Niagara County voters to put their faith in Wojtaszek in the upcoming Primary Election in June.

“Caroline Wojtaszek was the right choice for District Attorney four years ago and she is the best choice for County Court Judge now,” said Jastrzemski. “I hope that you join me voting for her on June 23rd, 2020.”
