The Niagara Reporter received the following statement from NYS Assemblyman Angelo J. Morinello (R,C,I,Ref-Niagara Falls) in reaction to Joe Percoco’s conviction.

“Joe Percoco’s conviction is a blow to the already-diminished reputation of New York’s government. It’s deeply troubling that we’ve wasted much of our year on issues of little significance when a previous aide to the governor sat on trial for federal corruption. With the news of Percoco’s conviction on three felony charges, I’m urging the Legislature to come together and work toward legislation to clean up government and restore faith in Albany. In the coming weeks we’ll work to enact the 2018-19 budget, and without instant action to tackle serious ethics reform, corruption will likely continue running rampant in Albany.”
