January 5, 2023

New York State’s minimum wage went up on Jan. 1 for workers in Niagara County as part of the $15 minimum wage phase-in. On December 31, workers outside of New York City, Long Island, and Westchester County saw the minimum wage increase by $1 per hour, from $13.20 to $14.20.

A minimum wage increase has also gone into effect for home care aides. Effective December 31, the minimum wage for home care aides in the same areas of the state increased to $16.20 per hour.
