Niagara Falls School Board Member Michael Gawel

There will be a major fundraising event for Niagara Falls School Board candidate Michael Gawel on Thursday, May 16, at Foley’s Tavern, 8752 Buffalo Ave., from 7 p. m. – 9:30 p. m.

Tickets for the Party are $20 in advance or at the door with hot dogs, beer, wine, and soft drinks on the menu with Bruce Wojak and Jamie Holka live at the bar at 9 p. m.

Michael and his wife, Michelle, will greet all guests at the fun-filled campaign event as Gawel gears up for the upcoming School Board elections on Tuesday, May 21.

Gawel, who says his major focus is the “education and safety of our children and grandchildren,”  is a magna cum laude graduate of Niagara University with a degree in accounting and also earned his law degree at the State University of New York at Buffalo.  He has been a CPA since 1980 and is a former president of the Riverside Condo Association.

A lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, Gawel’s parents still live in the house on 27th St. where he grew up.  His children, Michael, Sarah, and Patrick were born and raised in the city.

Gawel stresses his commitment to the city as a long time property owner and taxpayer and says he is running for the school board “because I know that the direction in which our schools go determines our city’s future.”
