Nick Forster won his sixth term as chairman of the Niagara County Democratic Committee. Forster was re-elected by a unanimous vote at the party’s reorganization meeting at the LaSalle Sportsmen’s Club.

Forster told committee members he has worked to strengthen the party by “building bridges” and expanding the party’s base with organized labor.” We want labor to be our strong ally and make the Democratic Party reflect the hopes and values of working people,” Forster said.

Forster was first elected party chairman in 1995 and served three two-year terms until 2001. He also served as City of Niagara Falls Democratic chair from 1990 to 1994. Forster returned as County chair in 2012.

In other business the committee members voted unanimously to reappoint Lora Allen as Democratic Commissioner for the Niagara County Board of Elections.

Allen is the first African American woman election commission ever in the State of New York.
