“This new branch in Niagara Falls will feature all the bells and whistles, including video ATMs and internet banking,” says Martin Griffith, Bank on Buffalo president who presided at a groundbreaking ceremony last week at 72nd St. and Niagara Falls Blvd.  “It will truly be a branch of the future.”

Bank on Buffalo is hoping to be up and running at the new location in the fourth quarter of this year, replacing a temporary facility in the Town of Wheatfield which gives the new branch a great start with $50 million in deposits already in the books.

Annette Tomlin of Niagara Falls, who manages the Wheatfield branch, will relocate as manager to the new location and is excited about making the transition to the new branch that will feature all of the latest services available in the banking industry.

“I just think this will be a terrific location, across the street from Tops, for both the bank and our customers,” she said at the groundbreaking ceremony attended by a number of local officials, including Councilmember Chris Voccio.

The $2 million facility, including all the latest tech features, should be a major attraction at the busy location, which was selected by Ben Borruso and Robert Schell of the Pyramid Brokerage Company in Buffalo.

“The bank wsanted a high-profile location, and that’s what they have at that site,” said Borruso.  The Consumer Beverage building located in the plaza at the bank site will be torn down and a new, free-standing facility will be constructed behind the current building.  Demolition and construction of the bank and the new building will occur side by side.
