On June 10, 2018 at 9:49 a.m., during the admission of the Thunder of Niagara Airshow, random vehicle inspections were being done at the Tuscarora Gate at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station.
One inspection, however, revealed that an 18-year-old operator, whose name is Simeon W. Brovont, of Homedale, Idaho, was in possession of a handgun.
Police say that the individual attempted to conceal the weapon and then claim to not know that it was there.
It is unknown at this time whether the individual intended to use said firearm at the show.
Brovont did not have a permit for the gun, in either Idaho or New York State, and was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
