Karrin Allyson will headline the Lewiston Jazz Festival.

Since 2001, former Lewiston Mayor Dick Soluri has orchestrated the Lewiston Jazz Festival. The Festival has become one of the most popular and entertaining events in all of Western New York.

On Friday and Saturday (Aug. 22 – 23), the Village of Lewiston will shut off Center Street between 4th and 6th Streets. The main stage is located across Center at 4th Streets and M&T Bank rising Star Stage is located at Center and 6th Streets.

In addition the Frontier House, the Village Courtyard and the DeCamillo Courtyard also offer convenient spots to view music as well. Restaurants up and down Center Street offer after-hours concerts "to boot."

Jazz music is not the only reason to visit Lewiston this week. . The Festival offers a popular jewelry show under the tent on South 5th and Center Streets, featuring both vintage and contemporary jewelry for sale at reasonable prices.

On Saturday between noon and five Jag Buffalo and West Herr Jag will line up on Center Street an incredible collection of vintage British cars, European Collector Cars and Cars of Special Interest. Not to be missed.

Former Lewiston Mayor Dick Soluri organizes the Jazz Fest.

Throughout Friday evening and all of Saturday, visitors will have the opportunity to taste some of the region's top culinary delights at discounted prices for the Festival. The Niagara Wine Trail's variety of wines will also be available for your enjoyment as well as a collection of your favorite craft and domestic beers.

On the Main Stage on Saturday at 8 p. m. Concord recording star Karrin Allyson (pronounced Car-en) will delight listeners with a variety of old and new jazz. The New York Times describes the four star nominated Grammy artist as a singer with "feline touch, impeccable intonation and one of jazz's greatest singers." She captivates jazz purists and non-jazz fans alike.

On Friday night at 8:30 the Main Stage celebrates American Jazz and Blues with Trumpeter Chris Tedesco from Niagara Falls (a relative of famed guitarist Tommy Tedesco) and vocalist Tony Galla (originally from Buffalo). They are mainstays in the Southern California music scene and perform live and in the studio.

If you love jazz, or even if you don't, the Lewiston Jazz Festival's atmosphere and ambience provide a fun time for all; free music, great food and drinks and a pleasure walk for all.

Special thanks to Dick Soluri, who provides the spark and the energy to make this a memorable event year after year.
