WEBR and Kenmore Broadcasting Bringing Back ‘The Breeze’ Soft Rock

April 26, 2026

Kenmore Broadcasting is relaunching The Breeze easy listening brand of soft rock from the 1970s and 1980s and you can enjoy the terrific sounds on WEBR 1440 AM and 105.3 FM and 106.9 FM, says program director Frank Miller.

Positioning as Buffalo’s “Smooth Hits,” Kenmore President Bill Yuhnke announced it brings the “Breeze” brand back to the market after previously being used by Townsquare Media’s 96.1 WMSX from 2018 until 2023. Yuhnke said in his post on Facebook it follows Kenmore’s recent acquisition of W295BW, bringing the station into Buffalo proper.

“It’s a pleasure to bring The Breeze back to Western New York, and we hope listeners can tune in for a bit, take a breath of fresh air, and take a break from the world for a while with The Breeze,” said Miller, who is clearly excited about bringing the brand back to listeners.

Miller said playing a mix of smooth hits from the ’70s, ’80s, and beyond on AM 1440, and FM 105.3 and 106.9, and “streaming on your favorite smart device” will be a real boost to your day, hearing the likes of the Doobie Brothers and Whitney Houston and many more.

“Make no mistake, this is breakthrough and appealing music nostalgia,” says Vik Bhargava, the lead singer of the popular rock group SoleTurn who has agreed to appear as a guest on The Breeze with Miller to help in introducing and playing the great sounds and who may contribute some of his special re-imagined rock tunes from the same period.

“I’m certainly looking forward to having Vik on our broadcast and talking music with him for our listeners,” said Miller. “We’ll be setting that up shortly and we’ll announce the dates shortly. He is incredibly gifted and well-versed in that brand of soft rock music and will be playing in October at the Hard Rock in Niagara Falls.
