The holiday season has begun and what better way to get into the spirit than by giving back to shelter dogs in need? Niagara County SPCA invites the dog-loving community near and far to participate in the first-ever Run for the Dogs Santa Run Virtual 5K!
Since the Run for the Dogs Santa 5K is virtual, you can run – or walk – 3.1 miles anywhere and support the no-kill animal shelter. Niagara County SPCA and shelters across the nation are relying on virtual fundraising events to continue their mission during these difficult times. Last year Niagara County SPCA provided shelter, food and medical care to 900 stray and surrendered dogs and continues to assist homeless and neglected animals in need each and every day.
Registration is $29 and includes a long sleeve T-shirt, digital race bib, finisher medal (includes a jingle bell for your running partner) and your results posted online! If you’d like to run – or walk – with your dog, you can purchase a holiday bandana for an additional fee. Packets will be shipped on Dec. 1 and participants can complete the 5K distance any time on or before Dec. 31.
