Restaurant Review: Power City Eatery

There are so many local restaurants in Niagara County that I can’t wait to try. Today I chose Power City Eatery located at 444 3rd Street Niagara Falls, NY 14301.

I have been eagerly waiting to try this restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch for a while now. Well, I was not disappointed!

Upon arriving I was greeted with two smiling faces and a great atmosphere. Although I had every intention of ordering the Rueben, I was told the “lunch feature” of the day was the best, so the lunch feature it was.

I had “Fancy Grilled Cheese” which consisted of provolone cheese, spinach, tomato jam & pesto on grilled sourdough bread. It is now one of my favorite sandwiches! It was warm and all the flavors meshed delightfully on perfectly toasted bread. I also had the “Chicken & Dumpling soup” which was very good.

I ended the meal with a lemon blueberry scone, which is homemade, and I was not let down one bit. It was light, airy, and crisp, yet moist in the middle; delicious! A friend of mine had the Pastrami Melt that consisted of pastrami that was thick but tender, caramelized onions, sharp cheddar cheese topped with spicy brown mustard served on caraway rye bread. Both meals were accompanied with homemade kettle chips.

The Pastrami Melt was fantastic but my “Fancy Grilled Cheese” was by far my favorite.

As I was eating my meal there were two Niagara Falls Police Officers, who I shared with that I would be reviewing the restaurant, and they told me, “anytime you see a cop car in front of a restaurant is a sure sign it has good food.” I couldn’t agree more!
