People across North Tonawanda got a rare look some vintage Fire Truck Muster that event organizers have been bringing to canal fest for the past four years

On display are 5 – 8 trucks giving residents a chance to feel like a firefighter!

In additional to looking at the trucks, they also let kids climb in/on them. In addition to a picture on the truck, organizers also help educate them about the history behind the trucks.

“The kids can look at them, climb on them and touch them,” said Dave Nedell, event organizer. “It’s helps them get a real feel for what the fire apparatus is.”

The fire trucks are also being used as a recruiting tool so that when people walk by they can talk to members of the fire department about a career in public service.
