The North Tonawanda Fire Department announced the passing of retired Firefighter Dave Szukala.

Szukala was hired January 1, 1965 and retired September 4, 1998. He is best remembered for his time working on Platoon 4 at Truck 2 on Vandervoort St and Truck 1 on Nash Rd, the position from which he retired.

In his spare time he enjoyed golfing and bowling, and for many years could be found working the Pro Shop at Deluxe Lanes. Szukala was also the Father of retired NTPD Chief Randy Szukala.
