The opening of the iconic Maid of the Mist boat rides from Niagara Falls has been delayed pending completion of vehicle inspections by the Coast Guard.

Officials at the Buffalo Coast Guard Station say inspections should be completed in a matter of days. The inspections were required due to the change from Canadian vessel standards to U. S. standards.

Discussions began last July after modifications to the U. S. vessels by Jimmy Glynn’s Maid if the Mist boats.

The famous boat rides usually open in late April or early May.
