At 1:57 p.m. this afternoon, a 23-year-old Niagara Falls man died in a car accident while driving an unregistered dirt bike east on Porter Road.

The man entered the westbound lane as he attempted to pass the vehicle in front of him. In doing so, he encountered a westbound SUV that was attempting to make a right turn onto 32nd Street, possibly grazing the vehicle as he left the roadway.

The man was ejected from the dirt bike and died at the scene.

The driver of the SUV, a 61-year-old Niagara Falls woman, is cooperating in the ongoing investigation.

No charges are currently pending.
