New WNY Land Conservancy Deputy Director, Cathleen Maine
The Western New York Land Conservancy, which in the past few years has spearheaded multimillion dollar restoration projects at both Stella Niagara and the Niagara Gorge, and is probably the most effective voice for the natural environment in the entire region, has named a new Deputy Director, Cathleen Maine.
Maine most recently served as the Development Director of the Northeast Wilderness Trust in Montpelier, VT. During her nine years there, she had many roles from finance to development director, helping to grow the Trust’s staff, capacity to execute on land protection projects, and revenue. To the Land Conservancy, she brings over 30 years of nonprofit management experience, including extensive knowledge of organizational development, program management, grant writing and monitoring, fundraising, and financial management. She will be working closely with the development, operations, and finance teams as well as Executive Director Marisa Riggi to facilitate smart growth. Maine, who is originally from Oneonta, loves to spend time outdoors with her family.
