Niagara County Reports Three Additional COVID-19 Deaths; Total Number of Cases Jumps to 359

The Niagara County Department of Health issued an update on Friday, April 24th, 2020, bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 359.  following update on positive COVID-19 cases in Niagara County. This increase of thirty-three cases comes on the heels of a day where there were thirty-two positive cases added. This marks the largest two-day increase of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Niagara County to date.

 

 

 In addition to the thirty-three new positive cases, Niagara County announces the passing of three additional residents. The three individuals were described as follows:

  • 94 year-old male with underlying health conditions
  • 76 year-old male with underlying health conditions
  • 70 year-old male with underlying health condition

There are currently 163 individuals in isolation. This includes 143 isolating in their own homes and 20 in hospitals. In total, 175 individuals have recovered from COVID-19. Quarantines, unlike isolations, are for people who are well and not showing symptoms, but may have been exposed to the virus.

 

 

As of April 24th, 2020, 1,635 Niagara County residents have been tested.
