Lorigo Tapped to Top State Political Post

September 24, 2024

By Tony Farina

Another incredible political honor has come to the longest serving Erie County political chairman, Ralph Lorigo, who has served as the County Conservative Party chairman since 1994, during which time many other political chairmen have come and gone.

Lorigo, who is also legal counsel to the state Conservative Party and heads his own law firm in West Seneca, was elected as executive vice chairman of the state party at the reorganization meeting in Albany over the Sept. 21 weekend.  Never before has an Erie County member of the party been selected to serve as executive vice chairman, a clear sign of the standing in which he is held by the state party leaders.

Lorigo, as is his trademark, accepted the appointment with dignity and grace, saying “I am honored and humbled” to be elected as executive vice chair of the state party and pledged to continue to do the party’s work in engaging public discourse on the battle of ideas “to strengthen and prosper the county, state, and country to serve the people of our community to the best of my ability.”

Those who have watched Lorigo during his career know that he is a serious political thinker, an incredible party leader who knows the ins and outs of all the political challenges, and works tirelessly to lead a minor party in the whirlwind world of politics, and produce many success stories. He does all that while heading a law firm under his name that has a strong record of representing clients of every political stripe.

The Niagara Reporter salutes Lorigo on the latest chapter of his political legacy and wish him much success in the future, locally and with the state party.  A true political giant in local political history.
