Community Rallies to Raise More than $28,000 in Memory of 16-Year-Old Who Saved Child’s Life

Renee Hill, 16, lost her life on Saturday, February 6th, 2021, saving the life of her 3-year-old cousin in a tragic sledding accident in Lewiston, NY.

Her family has set up a GoFundMe to assist with funeral expenses. The goal of the GoFundMe was to raise $25,000. Within forty-eight hours, more than $28,000 was raised in Renee’s memory.

In total, there were 685 donors with an average contribution of $42.30. It is a true showing of the community spirit in Western New York.
