Celebrity Chefs to Face Off for Healthy Hearts

February 17, 2015

Chef Bobby Anderson

Hell's Kitchen finalist Chef Bobby Anderson will face off against Tenth Street Café Executive Chef Lamont Singletary in a Healthy Pizza Showdown on Thursday, Feb. 19 at 3:30 p.m. to see who can make the healthiest yet most delicious pizza using gourmet ingredients with heart healthy benefits.

The event will promote February as American Heart Month and take place at the Tenth Street Café on the medical center's first floor. Along with the healthy pizza showdown, it will feature heart health screenings and interactive displays provided by the Medical Center's Heart Center of Niagara team.

A study recently released by the University of Illinois at Chicago regarding pizza's impact on children's health concluded that on days when children consume pizza they are more likely to take in more calories, fat, and sodium than on other days. Chef Anderson and Chef Singletary are on a mission to prove that it doesn't have to be that way.

Chef Bobby Anderson will compete with Chef Lamont Singletary to determine who can make the healthiest pizza.
