NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. –U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents on Monday announced the arrest of a rape suspect wanted in Georgia at the Rainbow Bridge. CBP officers working at the bridge encountered 44-year-old Mohammed Ahmed, a citizen of the United States and resident of Atlanta, Ga., on Sunday.
CBP officers conducted checks on Ahmed and discovered an active arrest warrant from Dekalb County, Ga. The warrant states that Ahmed is wanted for sex assault and rape.
Once CBP officers verified the warrant and confirmed extradition, Ahmed was arrested by CBP and turned over to the custody of the New York State Police.
