Memorial Medical Center Joined Area Churches in Pink Ribbon Sunday Observance

October 21, 2014

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center sought to expand breast cancer awareness on Sunday (Oct. 19) as 12 area churches participated in the annual Pink Ribbon Sunday observance.

Worshippers at those churches received pink ribbons and heard presentations about the importance of breast cancer prevention, early detection and treatment.

“People of faith know there is a connection between spirit, mind and body when it comes to staying healthy,” Memorial Community Outreach Director Charles Walker said. “Pink Ribbon Sunday is a day to remind women who are dedicated to serving the Lord and caring for others how important it is for them to care for themselves.”
