This Is A Work of Satire
A Poem From The Swamp
by Guy A. Bax
A shelter for dogs you don't say
please tell me just who's gonna' pay -
I don't think it's funny
(this tax payer money)
dear paulie keeps tossing away!
Pit bulls make it dreadfully clear
drug sellers and buyers are near
will they run 'helter skelter'
after he's built his shelter
better pour 'his nibs' just one more beer !
So now that we're speaking of beer
this simple fact remains unclear
you don't brew in your city
(I think it's a pity)
the mayor won't do business here!
You hunt -
(you're a nimrod that's true)
though your budget was way overdue
were you here and about
(in the woods drying out)
you're missing an oar
(maybe two)
Were you really the ketchup purveyor
the gopher of coffee dear mayor
was the ol' Bay of Pigs
really one of your gigs
he's mad
(spake the jaundiced soothsayer)
