The Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman announced charges against former Town of Wilson building inspector Christopher L. Jordan, 47.
Jordan was charged with Corrupting the Government in the Third Degree, a class D felony; Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, a class E felony; and Official Misconduct, a misdemeanor.
The charges are the result of an investigation conducted by the District Attorney’s Office into Jordan’s conduct as the building inspector and code enforcement officer for the Town of Wilson.
Jordan, as a Wilson code enforcement officer and building inspector, is alleged to have pocketed cash from homeowners for work permits without filing the permits or handing the cash to the town clerk.
Wilson, population 5993, is on the southern shore of Lake Ontario.
Jordan was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Part and released on his own recognizance. Jordan was given an appearance date of May 25th in Wilson Town Court.
District Attorney Seaman wishes to remind the public that ‘charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.”
