Via their Facebook Page Thursdays on the Water (link embedded), President of JG Productions and Entertainment, Jesse Gooch, who is also a Niagara County Legislator and owner of Painters Plus Home Decorating, announced that Thursdays on the Water has been given approval by the North Tonawanda Common Council to operate this summer!

This announcement marks the first large public event to be allowed following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Although the news is contingent on New York State Guidelines, Gooch is confident that the summer shows will happen this year.

“With the devastation the pandemic caused including lockdowns and canceled events or gatherings,” said Gooch, “people are ready for a little normalcy. Even though we are not fully out of the woods I am cautiously optimistic of having many restrictions lifted by this summer.”

Gooch was extremely appreciative of the work put in by members of the North Tonawanda Common Council including President Bob Pecoraro.

“I want to thank the North Tonawanda City council for voting unanimously on this year’s Thursdays on the water! There is a contingency with our contract should the New York State guidelines change for the worse. However, with mass vaccinations becoming available and this being an outdoor event I am confident we could pull this off safely and successfully for the community to enjoy. The entertainment industry is more than ready to open safely.”

Gooch says the plan is for the first concert to take place in July and run weekly until the end of August. Updates can be found on the Thursdays on the Water Facebook page.
