THE CRIME NF: Police Reports Between Friday, February 5th and Sunday, February 7th, 2021

-Niagara Falls Police responded to the 9800 block of Niagara Falls Blvd. at 1223 hours on Friday, February 5th, 2021, after reports of criminal mischief. According to police, the complainant stated that at some point overnight his doorknob was ripped off his door.

-Niagara Falls Police responded to the 2300 block of Pine Avenue at 1746 hours on Friday, February 5th, 2021, after reports of a violation of an order of protection. According to police, the complainant, who is the protected party, stated the aggressor was banging on his exterior windows of his business nearly causing them to break and screaming very loudly. Staff stated the aggressor fled on foot and officers apprehended him in the 400 block alley between 19th and 20th Street. He was taken into custody and processed for Criminal Contempt 2nd.

-Niagara Falls Police responded to the 1300 block of Pierce / Whitney Avenue around 0421 hours on Saturday, February 6th, 2021, after observing to a vehicle parked illegally in the middle of an alleyway. According to reports, the officer exited the cruiser and spoke to the driver at which time a clear plastic bag with a white rock-like substance was identified in the driver’s hands. Upon detaining the driver, police found more white rock-like substance inside the vehicle. The driver was issued appearance tickets from the incident and released at the scene.

-Niagara Falls Police responded to the 2700 block of LaSalle Avenue around 1135 hours on Saturday, February 6th, 2021, after reports of a burglary. According to police, the victim stated that at some point between 2230 hours the night before and 0530 hours that morning an unknown suspect entered his unlocked garage and stole the following property: an unknown power washer valued at $600, a bench grinder valued at $100, three craftsman floor jacks valued at $600, 2 tool boxes containing hand tools valued at $225, a fishing tackle box with tackle valued at $300, and motorcycle parts valued at $75. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

-Niagara Falls Police responded to Home Depot around 1455 hours on Sunday, February 7th, 2021, after reports of a larceny. According to police, two male suspects were seen attempting to steal items from the store. The suspects were described as white males, approximately in their 30’s, both slender build, around 6 feet tall. Both suspects dumped the items and fled on foot. The  total value of the items attempted to be stolen were $267.91. Police are in possession of surveillance video and are continuing to investigate the incident.

-Niagara Falls Police responded to South 68th Street around 0300 hours on Sunday, February 7th, 2021, after reports of a burglar alarm activation at a business. Upon arriving at the scene, police observed two open windows on the west side of the building along with footprints in the snow on the ground underneath both windows. Officers also observed a single one dollar bill on the ground underneath one of the windows. Upon entering the building, officers found items located on the ground and a cash register behind the bar open cleaned out of cash. Police are in the process of obtaining surveillance video.
