At the final Thursdays on the Water concert of 2019, Legislator Jesse Gooch presented a donation of $5,228.71 to the Veterans One-Stop Center of Western New York (VOC).
The VOC serves veterans in Niagara, Erie, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Allegany, Wyoming, Genesee, and Orleans counties. The organization provides free services and resources such as employment, financial counseling, legal, housing, peer-to-peer support, and education in one singular, convenient location.
The funds were raised through parking proceeds at Thursdays on the Water, the free concert series Legislator Gooch established at Gratwick Park. Last month, Gooch presented funds to the local chapter of the American Gold Star Mothers.
“Our thanks and gratitude to Legislator Jesse Gooch for his support of our mission to unite and empowers veterans, service members, and their families in the transition from military to civilian life. We commend Legislator Gooch for his continuous support of the men and women of the United StatesArmed Forces.” said Chuck Marra, President and CEO, Veterans One-stop Center of WNY. “The moniesraised will empower and support the over 11,000 veterans that the Veterans One-stop Center serves.”
“The Veterans One-Stop Center has helped thousands of veterans transition back to civilian life. Niagara County’s veterans are so fortunate to have this resource available, and I’m so proud to support this remarkable organization,” said Niagara County Legislator Jesse Gooch.
Gooch has run Thursdays on the Water for three years and has used the event to raise money for a number of charitable organizations.
