Wilbur’s 1stAnnual Chili Cook-Off was a HUGE success that surpassed everyone’s expectations!!

Wilbur’ Bar & Grill, located at 504 Cayuga Drive in LaSalle, opened fourteen months ago and just keeps on growing!

The chili cook-off was an idea that was born only two months ago when Billy, Dom and Wil were sitting around discussing how so many people love Wilbur’s chili (Dom’s daughter Sara’s recipe). A few customers overheard and began to chime in about what such an awesome idea it would be.

At best, they throught it would get ten entries top, but boy did they underestimate the love that people have for chili! A whopping twenty-two people signed up for the competition with seventeen of them competing for 1st, 2nd& 3rdplace prizes.

The turnout was crazy! It was standing room only and that’s no joke, Wilbur’s was packed!

As the most famous (Ahemmmmm!) food expert/critic in Niagara Falls, I tried each and every chili and narrowed it down to the top three. After narrowing it down, I retried each of them and ranked them from first to third.

Each and every one was different in taste and style. Some had beans and some didn’t. Some were mild and some were hot & spicy. One was even creamy Italian which I though was amazing and ended up in my top three.

All of them expressed their own personality and flare. Kudos to all contestants! And the winners are:

First Place: Mark Hund

Second place: Scott Campbell

Third Place: Lauren Cerrone

Wilbur’ is a great fun place to hang out and have a few cocktails, a snack or just kickback and relax with friends.

Their motto is “ WHERE YOU CANT DRINK ALL DAY IF YOU DON’T START IN THE MORNING” and I totally agree with that.

I’m so looking forward to the rib throw down in January (maybe ill compete) and a sauce-off in February. There’s always something going on at Wilbur’s.

Be sure to stop in have a drink even watch ta Bill’s game, of course tell them Jamie sent you!
