Batavia Downs Gaming Offering Big Solar Eclipse Party

By Tony Farina

If you are still looking for a place to enjoy the solar eclipse on Monday, look no further than Batavia Downs Gaming where doors open at 1 p.m. and for a $20 ticket you will enjoy the potentially once-in-a-lifetime event and all the trimmings the house will provide.

You will receive $10 in free play, snack and beverage samplings, official certified eclipse glasses, and a live show by Nerds Gone Wild from 1 to 3 p.m.

And there will also be access to the track apron for eclipse viewing, a celestial event when the moon comes between the earth and the sun, completely blocking out the sunlight.

Batavia and Genesee County sit directly in the path of totality and you will experience the full magnitude of the event beginning at 3:19 p.m. for 3 minutes and 42 seconds and a partial eclipse for nearly two and a half hours.

The spectacular event is emotionally powerful and the next total eclipse will occur in 2044, too far away to plan for sure so make sure you stop at Batavia Downs for a courtside seat on Monday, April 8, for the 2024 total solar eclipse.  You can call 585-344-6155 to talk to Sara about a hotel deal if still available.

Enjoy the eclipse at one of the best viewing locations in the area, just off the Thruway at Batavia Downs Gaming.
