Nasty Graffiti Found to Tarnish Olmsted Vision in Lower Gorge

The public is requested to contact State Parks police with any information leading to the arrest and conviction of vandals who have spray-painted gang signs on trees at the base of the Niagara Gorge.

Several trees along pristine hiking trails on the shoreline of the Niagara River have been defaced by the crude graffiti.

The notion that these images somehow constitute "street art" or "freedom of expression" is rejected by the majority of citizens.

Criminal mischief such as this is a crime, and the perpetrators should be punished within the full extent of the law.
