On Friday, June 1 at 2:00 P.M., Mayor Paul Dyster will recognize Gun Violence Awareness Month and Day in the City
of Niagara Falls with a brief ceremony and special proclamation.
He will be joined by Paul McQuillen, Upstate Coordinator from NYAGV (New Yorkers Against Gun Violence), Niagara Falls Police Superintendent Bryan DalPorto, Mark Laurrie, Niagara Falls City Schools Superintendent, and Reverend Raymond Allen, President of the Niagara Ministerial Council.
The public is welcome to attend and encouraged to wear orange in support.
Since 2013, June has been designated as Gun Violence Awareness Month in New York State. National Gun Violence Awareness Day is celebrated on June 2, 2018, and participants across the nation wear orange in support of curbing gun violence.
