Cancer can rob a woman of her energy, appetite and strength but it doesn't have to take away her self-confidence.
Look Good Feel Better is a free American Cancer Society program that offers techniques to restore self-image and cope with appearance-related side effects for female cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, radiation or other forms of treatment.
Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center will host the Look Good Feel Better program from 6 to 8 p.m. April 13 in the HSBC Community Room at The Heart Center of Niagara, Walnut Avenue at 10th Street.
Certified cosmetologists will provide tips on makeup, skin care and nail care while teaching how to cope with skin changes and hair loss by using new, donated cosmetic kits that patients will be able to keep. Participants will also learn ways to disguise hair loss with scarves and other accessories.
Look Good Feel Better is free but registration is required. For information or to register, call the American Cancer Society toll free at (800) 227-2345.
