Aficionados of renowned artist Gerald Skrlin's work have come to anticipate the effectively repeated Frankenstein Monster theme especially when executed in a reelection setting. This particular rendering plays off of the "monster" interpretation and highlights the frightening trash and recycling program that has terrorized the Niagara Falls countryside for the past nine months. The cartoon creatively presents puns and multiple word meanings by presenting the mayor as a recycled candidate whose administrative programs have been, essentially, garbage. When will the Frankenstein theme come to an end? In the Frankenstein legend the story was mercifully ended for the good of the community when the towns people stormed the Frankenstein castle, flaming torches and pitchforks in hand, as they drove the monster to its ultimate demise, thereby returning the village to law, order, and desperately needed sanity.
