Let me take this opportunity to dispel a widespread rumor circulating in this city which is that I have been selected to be appointed to the Niagara Falls Financial Advisory Panel by the City Council of Niagara Falls.
While our city's fiscal condition is in deep peril and demands our immediate attention, I will not be serving at this time on the council's panel primarily because I have not been asked.
While I respect those august members of the Niagara Falls community who have been appointed to the Financial Panel and wish them Godspeed and the success in their endeavors that city taxpayers so richly deserve and of which their bright minds are no doubt capable of accomplishing in normal times and better days.
But there is one problem: And it cannot be solved by all the king's geniuses and the king's idiots either:
I will tell you the deep dark secret of the whole financial mess this city is in today: a man named Paul Dyster spends like a drunken sailor; a spendthrift with others' money; a waster of resources; a man who blew through the kind of money that any prudent lover of this city and the people in it could have made change with, made a new day, a brighter tomorrow, instead of inviting disaster as he has done.
Whoever heard of a mayor who got $168 million in casino cash in a city this size and had to raise taxes and still has a deficit? Are you insane?
A Financial Advisory Panel?
Stop giving money away to every outside Albany and Buffalo special interest and use it for this city by our residents, for our residents.
No Sir, I have not been asked and you can easily figure out why I won't be asked to be on the Finance Panel.
I don't buy Mayor Dyster’s BS that there is some mystery here which requires all this thinking.
Stop wasting money. It’s that simple.
Meantime I am actively campaigning for our next Mayor - Glenn Choolokian.
Once he is elected there will be no need for a Financial Advisory Panel.
There is plenty of money if we stop wasting.
All we need is, just for once, to have someone like Glenn Choolokian who will put Niagara Falls and its families.
First!
